According to NEBE’s Communication Advisor, Solyana Shimelis, vote results were delivered to the election agency escorted by security forces, after exhaustive official supervision.
The certified result must be revealed nationwide on the tenth day after the election day, announced the Board, which reported that more than 37 million Ethiopians were registered to vote.
However, that date may vary because, according to the Board itself informed, the elections were completed on June 22 in the regional states of Sidama and Gambella, and temporarily delayed in two districts of the Benshangul Gumuz region.
The 46 political parties accredited to participate in the elections and more than 9,000 representatives of those organizations competed for seats in Parliament and regional councils.
