Covid-19 situation in Moscow ‘extremely difficult’

Moscow, Jun 28 (Prensa Latina) The Major of Moscow, Sergei Sobianin, assured that the situation in the Russian capital due to Covid-19 remains extremely difficult, with the highest figures of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of Covid-19-related deaths rose to 124 in the past 24 hours, a new high since the outbreak.

Six hundred eleven died all over the country, bringing the total to 133,893, according to the General Staff of the fight against the pandemic.

Russian health authorities reported 21,650 new SARS-CoV-2 infections on Monday, for an overall of 5,472,941.

Twelve thousand six hundred and twenty five patients were released yesterday, putting the total figure at 4,969,340, for a recovery rate of 90.7%.

Sobianin reported that all figures of hospitalizations, people in intensive care, and deaths were surpassed last week.

For this reason measures were enacted granting access to cafés and restaurants only to those already recovered, vaccinated or holding negative PCR test certificates.
