The nominations for August 8 will be presented in all the party’s grassroot organizations, when nominations by the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP), a coalition of revolutionary forces, will also be included.
Vice President Diosdado Cabello stressed that the elected candidates might even win the primaries, but this does not mean that they will be final, as the PSUV will guarantee a cuota for the GPP hopefuls and the organization reserves the right to make decisions regarding national leaderships.
He added that the PSUV is part of a coalition, and they must run unitedly, as stated in the regulations for this election; ‘we have made it clear in the regulations that there is an open space for allies.’
Cabello also spoke about consulting the party’s grass roots and said that the difference between this year and previous years is that this is the first time that a consultation process has been carried out amid foreign threats and the US blockade.
