In a television press conference, the director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Durán, pointed out that in the Caribbean island a total of 179,656 people have been affected by this disease since March 11, 2020.

To date, 36,680 patients remain hospitalized, of whom 8,042 are suspects; 17,538 under surveillance and 11,100 active with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the pathogen that causes Covid-19, the specialist explained.

For the detection of the coronavirus, 36,608 samples were studied the day before. In all, Cuba have analyzed a total of four million 983 thousand 124 tests.
