Experts warn that such situations will markedly change life on the planet, more so for humans than for ecosystems and animals. Specialists point out that the extinction rates of fauna and flora will be a thousand times higher than before the geological period known as the Anthropocene. In the oceans between 70 and 90 percent of coral reefs will wipe off the face of the globe, and the high rate of gas emissions could wipe out half of the Amazon rainforest.

Scientists estimate an increase in the number of migrants due to disease, water shortages, floods and natural disasters.

They predict that humanity will also suffer from extreme heat, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia, as well as long periods of drought and famine.
