Giuliani’s suspension is temporary, pending the outcome of a full formal disciplinary hearing.
The suspension, which takes effect immediately, is a stunning blow to the 77-year-old Giuliani, a former New York mayor who was once a top Justice Department official and U.S. attorney in Manhattan, and may appeal but at this time he is suspended from practicing law in the state.
Giuliani’s conduct threatens public interest and warrants an interim suspension of 33-page suspension order till the a five-judge panel of the Appellate Division of the First Judicial Department of New York Supreme Court may study the case.
Giuliani, in an interview with NBC News outside his Upper East Side apartment, griped that it ‘is ridiculous’ that he was being disciplined without such a hearing.
Giuliani is also in the crosshairs of federal justice in the framework of a probe into his activities to aid Trump to seek compromising information about Joe Biden and his son during the 2020 election campaign.
