Europa por Cuba issued a statement highlighting that 184 out of 193 member states of the United Nations General Assembly supported yesterday the resolution on the need to end the blockade on Cuba.
The channel recalled that the General Assembly demanded for the twenty-ninth time the lifting of Washington’s blockade, in a vote in which the United States was once again isolated from the world, by opposing the initiative together with its ally Israel, while Brazil, Colombia and Ukraine abstained.
The platform described as ‘overwhelming’ the moral defeat of the United States and indicated that it will multiply ‘its expressions of brotherhood, solidarity, and unconditional support for the Cuban people and its Revolution for as long as necessary.’
‘Europa por Cuba’ added that it broadcasted on its YouTube channel images of the mobilizations in France, Spain and Italy to reject the blockade and accompany Cuba in the vote in the UN General Assembly.
The platform convened two world programs against the US blockade, the first on March 27th and 28th and the second from June 6th to 13th, in which thousands of people participated in cities of more than 90 countries in caravans, rallies and other activities.
It also launched a call to the intelligentsia to condemn the blockade, an initiative signed by more than 200 personalities from various sectors.
