The three girls were conceived in 2020 as a result of one of 10 in vitro fertilizations achieved by the institution.
The parents attended consultation at the Attention to the Infertile Couple at the Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía General Hospital, as per Agencia Cubana de Noticias.
‘It was a complex stage; we interrupted treatment for three months due to Covid-19, but we retook it and finally achieved the goal,’ according to the mother, who remained four months in hospital during her pregnancy to avoid risks.
The children were born prematurely via c-section and are evolving favorably.
The Regional Center of Assisted Reproduction in Cienfuegos achieved last year 110 intrauterine or ‘low-tech’ fertilizations, and 10 in vitro or high complexity fertilizations.
