On Twitter, Nicolás Maduro reported on exchange to be held with the Iranian head of state, in which both sides reiterated their willingness to strengthen two-way ties in the face of coercive measures imposed by the United States on both nations.
‘I had a phone conversation with Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, president-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We agreed to strengthen our ties of brotherhood and cooperation so as to move on and challenge US aggressions against our peoples,’ Maduro live-tweeted.
In a recent statement, the Venezuelan government congratulated Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and greeted the Iranian people for the flawless and democratic general elections held on June 18.
Venezuelan Parliament said that Ebrahim Raisi´s elections as new President, who is ‘faithful representative of a brilliant generation that grew up and was forged with the Islamic Revolution’, will continue guaranteeing freedom, sovereignty and development.
