Facing the forum, where dozens of delegations called for the uplifting of sanctions stranggling the Caribbean nation, the US government considered that such a hostile policy is ‘in favor of the Cuban people’, while numbers show the opposite.

We will vote against the resolution, the government official stated, proving once again how Washington turns its back to the topic that many nations criticize due to its consequences to the island and to third countries.

During the UN General Assembly’s session this wednesday, for the 29th occasion the Cuban government presented the project ‘Need to put an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States imposes to Cuba’.

A total 184 nations voted in favor of the resolution, while the United States and Israel were against, and Colombia, Ukraine and Brazil abstained.
