Ri stressed in a statement published Wednesday by the ACNC news agency that the foreign ministry resolutely supports the statement of Kim Yo Jong, deputy department head of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, which strongly rejects Washington’s hasty assessment of such an option.
In his remarks, Kim said that Washington seems to be interpreting the current situation in a positive way by seeking comfort for itself.
The foreign minister added, for his part, that the DPRK is not thinking of holding some kind of insignificant contact, which would only serve to waste valuable time.
