That stance was expressed by Chinese representative Liu Yiei, who explained that his country will vote in favor of a Cuban resolution encouraging the end of such a hostile policy by Washington.
The unilateral coercive measures are counterproductive and violate peoples’ fundamental human rights, especially those of Cubans, the diplomat said.
He noted that the blockade against Cuba was strengthened despite the Covid-19 pandemic, denying medicine and supplies to Cuba.
The blockade violates the principles and purposes of the UN Charter and the UN General Assembly’s resolutions, Yiei emphasized on Wednesday, when international organizations and many countries announced they will vote for an end to the US blockade against Cuba.
