With 21.04 percent of the counted votes on Sunday, the Armenia Alliance party, led by former President Robert Kocharyan, who has already said he does not recognize the results, was second.
The parties in fourth and fifth places, the alliance led by former President Serzh Sargsyan and the Enlightened Armenia party, did not comply with the requirements regarding the number of votes necessary to access the National Assembly.
Pashinian posted on Facebook that ‘in the new Parliament, the Civic Agreement party will have a constitutional majority and will form the Government.’
Twenty-first parties and four political alliances competed in the 2,008 polling stations set for Sunday’s elections nationwide.
