Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh recalled that the US Government abandoned the deal at the request of former President Donald Trump.
In reaction to recent statements by National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Katibzadeh noted that the Islamic Republic has a single policy and will not renegotiate the JCPOA.
According to the Iranian diplomat, Sullivan had to read the text of the multilateral deal, which establishes the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
Previously, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi assured that all the documents for a return to what was signed in the JCPOA are almost ready, although some issues are still pending.
Araghchi is heading his country’s mission at the negotiations being held in Vienna, Austria, whose central issue is to save the nuclear deal and the return of the United States.
Washington sent its representatives, but it does not speak directly in the talks, because it left the multilateral deal.
