A bicycle caravan in the nearby area of the emblematic Atomium building in Brussels and a rally in Groenplaats square in Antwerp marked the events against Washington’s blockade and in favor of the Cuban family. The rallies were convened by the Bridges of Love initiative, led by Cuban-American professor Carlos Lazo.
Cuban flags, banners in rejection to that US policy and slogans such as ‘Blockade No, Cuba Yes’, ‘Bridges of Love Yes, blockade No’ and ‘Down with the blockade’ dominated the actions, which were attended by Belgians in solidarity with Cuba.
The call to end the US blockade has been expressed at the Atomium building the fourth time less than three months, and was accompanied by the contagious joy and musical rhythms from Cuba.
The new generations also participated in the caravan followed by a rally in Brussels, where a poster showed Cuba’s double struggle, against the blockade and the Covid-19 pandemic.
