According to the report, the Legislative Council in the state of Carabobo signed an agreement to reject the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington against that sister nation.
The proposal was also approved by all 14 municipal councils and expresses the Venezuelans’ support for and solidarity with the Cuban people, according to the communiqué, quoted by local media.
In the special session, Cuban Consul General in Valencia Damian Cordero thanked the lawmakers for their gesture, and stated that the blockade in itself is a criminal and genocidal action, but it becomes unprecedented, unusual and cruel, due to the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cordero recalled that the White House’s actions harm the Cuban people in all spheres, their families and citizens living abroad, violate human rights and sovereignty, hinder communications, travels, family reunification, affect other States’ interests and go against international law.
