Pyongyang, Jun 18 (Prensa Latina) The Third Plenum of the Eighth Session of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) continued in Pyongyang on Friday with a call to take actions to speed up the development of society.

At the meeting, which was attended by the leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Un, participants worked in commissions, where they discussed the most important tasks for the second half of 2021, according to KCNA.

The WPK members unanimously approved additional measures to execute the main state political tasks assigned for this year, and a call to the entire party, army and people to fulfill the grain production plan.

Kim Jong Un assessed the latest changes in the international political scene and the external environment of the Korean Revolution after summarizing them.

In particular, he analyzed the political trend of the new US administration regarding the DPRK and noted the proper direction of the strategic and tactical response and actions to be taken in further relations with the US.

In order to defend the dignity and independent development interests of the Korean State, and to ensure a peaceful environment and national security, it is necessary to be prepared for both dialogue and confrontation, and in particular, it is necessary to strive for perfection in preparations for the latter option, the DPRK leader said.
