Member of the South African Parliament condemns the US blockade to Cuba

Pretoria, Jun 18 (Prensa Latina) Solomon Lechesa Tsenoli, member of the African National Congress (ANC) and the Central Committee of the South African Communist Party (SACP), expressed here his energic condemnation of the blockade imposed by the US to Cuba.

In that direction, he said, ‘we share the position of the president of our country (Cyril Ramaphosa), as well as the SACP’s’.

We are determined, added the also vicepresident of South Africa’s National Assembly, to condemn the existence of the blockade and the American sanctions against Cuba.

In addition, expressed Lechesa, we decided to call for the US to return the Naval Base of Guantanamo to Cuban hands.

Currently, he explained, our biggest disappointment is the administration of the president Joe Biden, who has not moved forward with what we thought were promising signals of reversing historic sanctions and the blockade against Cuba.

This, he stated, has been a disappointment, and the reason is that he supported the fight against the Apartheid in South Africa as a young congressman.
