Cuba’s Deputy Prime Minister develops work agenda in Venezuela

Caracas, Jun 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas is carrying out an intense work agenda as part of his visit to Venezuela to assess bilateral cooperation mechanisms, a diplomatic source informed today.

On Thursday morning, Cabrisas held a meeting with the sectoral vice president of Economy and Minister of Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, according to the Cuban Embassy in Caracas in a press release.

Previously, the Deputy PM held work meetings with the Venezuelan heads of Health, Carlos Alvarado; Productive Agriculture and Lands, Wilmar Castro; Electric Energy, Nestor Reverol, and the president of the state-owned oil Petroleos de Venezuela company, Asdrubal Chavez.

In each of the meetings, the sides reaffirmed the invariable bonds of solidarity and brotherhood between both nations, as well as the will to strengthen cooperation links amid the economic US aggressions against Cuba and Venezuela, the source indicated.

Likewise, the government representations emphasized that, in the midst of the difficult situation characterized by the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the priority of both governments revolves around the preservation of the health of their respective populations.

In that regard, Cabrisas ratified the commitment of the highest Cuban authorities to make available to Venezuela the results obtained in the research and development of vaccines against Covid-19 disease.

Under the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement signed in 2020, Havana and Caracas promote programs and projects in health, education, energy, science and technology, culture, defense, sports, among others, for the revival of their economies and the welfare of their people.
