During the meeting, they exchanged greetings and ratified their willingness to strengthen bilateral relations in favor of the development of both countries in areas of common interest, the Venezuelan Vice Presidency said in a press release.
‘We thank His Highness, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, for receiving us in the Al Bahr Palace in Qatar, and to whom we extend greetings from President Nicolas Maduro and the entire Venezuelan people,’ the vice president wrote on her Twitter account.
Rodriguez arrived in Qatar on Tuesday and her agenda will focus on strengthening fraternal relations and the agreements signed in economic, judicial, customs, energy, sports, air transport and other areas.
Venezuela and Qatar established diplomatic relations in 1973. They have been strengthened for the past two decades on the basis of mutual respect, solidarity and cooperation for mutual benefit and the preservation of sovereignty and self-determination.
