Syrian Army eliminates terrorist leaders in Idlib

Damascus, Jun 10 (Prensa Latina) A number of terrorist commanders were wiped out along with dozens of extremists during an attack of the Syrian Army at the Jabal Al-Zawiya region, on the south of the province Idlib.

The Al-Watan diary reported that an artillery strike destroyed a meeting place of top members of the Organization for the Liberation of Levant, formerly Al-Nousra, inscribed in the list of international terrorist organizations.

According to the Athr Press news portal, Abu Khaled Shami, spokesman of the military arm of al-Nousra, and Abu Mussab, leader of the media division, are among the dead.

The joint Russo-Syrian aviation conducted over 15 air strikes against terrorist positions in Kafer Awed, Fatira and al-Bara, killing and wounding some 20 terrorists and destroying several of their vehicles.

Extremist organizations such as the Organization for the Liberation of Levant and the Islamic Party of Turkestan, manned by mercenaries of the Chinese Uyghur ethnic, are deployed in Idlib, 320 km north of Damascus.

The Syrian Army managed to liberate 56 percent of the province during its operations in 2020, and the terrorists control currently less than half, where they retain thousands of civilians as human shields and constantly violate the ceasefire by attacking the Army and the civilian population.
