Roussel, who is also a legislator and a presidential candidate, regretted that the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States limits the arrival of medical supplies to the Caribbean nation, including the necessary resources to fight the pandemic.

Roussel reiterated the French communists’ support and participation in the initiative launched in April from solidarity, by the Cuba Linda association along with the France Cuba association, to collect money in order to purchase syringes and needles, which will be sent to Cuba for immunization.

The campaign scheduled until late June accumulates around 80,000 euros, most of the money donated by citizens, organizations, unions and political forces have already been transferred for the purchase of those supplies.

We call to continue this beautiful campaign, so that the Cuban people can be vaccinated quickly, as all peoples should have the right to do so, stressed the communist leader, who recalled that Cuba has its own vaccine candidates.
