According to the communiqué, the EU proposed opening negotiations within the World Trade Organization with the goal of expanding world access to medical products related to Covid-19.
The Eurochamber also called on the United States and the United Kingdom to suppress immediately the prohibitions on the export of vaccines and raw materials needed for their production.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced at a press conference that 100 million people had already been completed the Covid-19 vaccination cycle in the region.
Over half the adults in the European Union received at least a dose of the vaccine, according to van der Leyen, who went on to affirm that the goal is immunizing at least 70% out of nearly 450 million of the population of the EU.
