In a message to which Prensa Latina had access, the association with six decades of support to the Cuban Revolution called on French legislators in the European Parliament to categorically reject this Tuesday the point to condemn the Caribbean country with the issue of the human rights.
We invite you to vote against the motion, because supporting it would violate the Cuban people’s human rights and would encourage an extraterritorial policy of a foreign country that harms France’s own interests, the association stressed, alluding the US economic, commercial and financial blockade and its global impact.
MEPs from Renew Europe and the European People’s Party, especially Spaniards, managed along with the extreme right to introduce in the plenary assembly scheduled for this Tuesday a draft resolution with accusations about human rights, a maneuver aimed at harming the political dialogue and cooperation agreement between Cuba and the European Union.
According to France Cuba, the initiative is part of the scene of the United States’ aggressions against the Caribbean nation, which include more than 60 years of economic blockade.
The message to the French MEPs recalls the solidarity displayed by Cuba globally in times of the Covid-19 pandemic, by sending medical brigades to dozens of countries and territories, among them Andorra and Italy, in Europe, and the French overseas department of Martinique.
