Upon receiving the approval by the National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), they are debating the issue in the Senate, in a second reading of the bill presented by the Executive, Actualite.cd reported.
The legal initiative got majority support from lawmakers on Thursday, with 334 votes in favor, one against and one abstention, noted the publication, which also highlighted the arguments by Justice Minister Rose Mutombo.
The National Assembly authorized, in the first reading, to extend the state of siege in those two eastern provinces of the country for 15 days, prior to the end of the initial one-month period.
