Speaking at a video conference during the International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, El Aissami stressed that the transformation must be accompanied by a broad global debate and financing for the development of alternate energy sources.
The deliberations must go beyond the agendas of governments and corporations, in order to advance towards collective development committed to energy security, the official said.
He stated that a coordinated policy, with the participation of the international community, will help implement solutions for the reduction of the environmental impact caused by traditional energy sources.
‘We consider that the sum of diverse visions must be put into practice in an integral policy that generates an impact of collective well-being, with humankind seen as a common destiny,’ El Aissami, who is also the Minister of Oil of Venezuela, stressed.
A delegation from Venezuela will participate until June 5 in the Forum, which brings together representatives from business communities from Africa, Latin and North America, Europe, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
