Contribution of surfing to tourism in El Salvador highlighted

San Salvador, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) The president of the International Surf Association (ISA), Fernando Aguerre, today highlighted the impact of this discipline on the tourism development of El Salvador.

‘A whole virtuous economic cycle is going to be generated. The money that comes in and is invested will improve the community,’ said Aguerre, who visits this country for the ISA World Games, with pre-Olympic rank.

In a meeting with the Salvadoran Minister of Tourism Morena Valdez, Aguerre appreciated the opportunity that opens up for this Central American nation with this commitment to the development of surfing.

‘When a surfer comes, he does it with his family, he will ask for food, guide and lodging, surf schools will emerge, he is a socioeconomic trigger for local populations,’ commented the head of the ISA.

Aguerre pointed out that this modality will force Salvadoran hoteliers to train more, especially in aspects such as food, since surfers have a healthier lifestyle.

The manager also appreciated the changes that El Salvador is promoting in safety and sports, which makes it an attractive tourist destination.

In fact, the government of El Salvador considers this key event for the development of the country, as it impacts the tourism structure for public use, generated employment and directly benefited some 300 local businesses.
