On Tuesday, also on this platform, Arce greeted Diaz-Canel and highlighted the vaccination of over one million people with the first shot of these Cuban vaccine candidates, nearly 600,000 with the second one and 142,000 with the third dose.

Cuba has five vaccine candidates against the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2.
If their effectivenes is proven and the regulating organization approves them, Cuba will be able to achieve the first Covid-19 vaccines devised and produced in Latin America.
According to scientists and experts, 70 percent of the Cuban population will have been immunized against this disease by August this year, as part of a vaccination strategy in population groups.
