In the city of Concepción, capital of Biobio region, an over 45-vehicle-caravan toured the main streets of the city on Monday, in addition to other similar demonstrations held during last weekend.
Called by the José Martí Cultural Association, one of the groups that make up the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in Chile, hundreds of demonstrators braved a pelting rain and killing cold of southern winter so as to express their support for the Cuban people.
Carrying Cuban flags, posters calling for the end of the US blockade against the Caribbean nation, and honking horns, vehicles left from the Bioiío Regional Theater with the purpose of condemning Washington’s policy.
Caravan´s organizers thanked all those who joined the protest and also called on them to be ready for forthcoming one in rejection of this policy, stating that ‘the fight will continue until such a criminal blockade ends.’
