The number of infected by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus since January last year increased to 28,047,534, out of a population of about 1,350 million inhabitants.

India remains the second most affected country worldwide in terms of the number of cases, only behind the United States.

The fatalities due to comorbidities amounted to 329,100, after the deaths of another 3,128 people, according to official data.

Meanwhile, active patients were reduced to 2,026,092 and the recovery rate of patients improved to 91.60 percent, with 25,692,342 medical discharges reported to date.

The national government said on Sunday that about 120 million doses of coronavirus vaccines will be available in June for the immunization campaign.
