Following a draw organized by the Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority and the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia, the organizations were allocated time on television, the radio and in newspapers to show their programs and candidates.

Now, according to the new schedule, they will be capable of campaigning up to four days before the voting date.

The elections should have taken place in August 2020, but the House of People’s Representatives (Parliament) approved to postpone them until Covid-19 ceased to be an epidemiological threat.

The elections will be held in places where there were no irregularities in the voters’ register nor security problems, by determination of the electoral institution, which suspended the electoral process in 40 constituencies distributed in six regional states.
