MEP Moreno urges Joe Biden to resume rapprochement with Cuba

Brussels, May 28 (Prensa Latina) Member of European Parliament Javier Moreno on Thursday urged President Joe Biden to resume rapprochement with Cuba and also condemned US blockade against Cuba.

On Twitter, Javier Moreno, who serves as president of EP´s Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba Group, called on Joe Biden to leave behind the Donald Trump administration´s disastrous parenthesis, who decreed 240 measures to tighten the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed for over 60 years on Cuba.

Regarding US blockade, Moreno expressed his support to the draft resolution the UN General Assembly (UNGA) will vote on June 23 on the need to put an end to blockade.

We must once again condemn the blockade and ask Biden to lift it, Moreno said.

Moreno stressed that US blockade is an additional suffering for the Cuban people in times of the Covid-19 pandemic.
