In a statement sent to Prensa Latina, Natasa St. Jovanovic, member of parliament who is also member of the Serbian-Cuban Friendship Group, expressed her solidarity with the Cuban people in the face of these unjust US sanctions, to which her country was also subjected, she recalled.
She remarked that, as a consequence of a 60-year blockade, considered the longest in the history of humanity, Cuba is forced to support itself exclusively on its own forces.
It´s little known that Cuba has two thirds of its population with high levels of education, so it is commendable, and it has the highest number of doctors per inhabitant.
She added that another reason for Cuba´s recognition is that the country is currently developing several Covid-19 vaccine candidates.
She stressed that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic frequently points out that surrender is not the option, so she urges the Cuban people not to surrender, to join forces with the certainty that one day, as soon as possible, the unjust blockade ends.
