According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) official website, during the signing Jamaica´s Education, Youth and Information Minister Fayval Williams talked about historical cooperation relations between the two Caribbean nations.
Likewise, Williams highlighted Cuban professors´ far-reaching contribution to public education in different subjects particularly the Spanish language.
Cuba´s Ambassador to Jamaica Inés Fors stressed, on the other hand, that ‘the agreement signing means an ever closer two-way cooperation and a broader relation between the two countries,’ the Cubaminrex portal reported.
The Cubaminrex added that this agreement, in force for three years that can be extended, endorses cooperation that both nations have held in educational sector for nearly 25 years.
MINREX also reported that 83 Cuban professors are currently teaching as many as 36,000 children and young people at all educational levels in nearly all Jamaican provinces.
