According to the information posted on the website of the Cuban National Assembly, the plenary session will be devoted to the role of parliaments in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic and the construction of a better future.
The speech by Esteban Lazo, who is also the president of Cuba’s Council of State, will deal about his country’s experiences in preventing and fighting the new coronavirus, including the development of five vaccine candidates.
He will also denounce the negative effects of the United States economic, commercial and financial blockade on Cuba’s society and economy, as a result of its tightening over the past few years with more than 240 unilateral coercive measures taken by the Donald Trump administration.
