The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) are among those summoned, according to a statement published on the website of the Transport Ministry.
The statement said that it was the pilot of Ryanair’s Boeing 737-800 who ‘made his own decision to land at Minsk’s National Airport without any pressure from Belarus.’
On Tuesday, local authorities published the transcript of the dialogue between the air controller and the pilot of the Ryanair flight, before the emergency landing.
‘We have information from the security services that you have a bomb on board that could detonate over Vilnius,’ the controller told the pilot, according to the Sputnik news agency.
For his part, the pilot asked him about the origin of the warning, to which the controller replied that it was an email received via the airport’s security service. He also told him that a similar email had been received by other air terminals.
The pilot also inquired about the origin of the proposal to divert the plane to Minsk. The controller replied, ‘It is our suggestion,’ after which the captain of the aircraft approved redirecting the plane to Minsk’s airport, according to the transcript.
