Until today, Vietnam has registered slightly over 3,000 contagions, the vast majority of whom were repatriated from other territories, but then a fresh outbreak of the novel coronavirus increased that figure to 4,941, including 108 on Friday.
Officials from the commission in charge of containing Covid-19 claimed that the relevant agencies fully complied with the protocols of the case, but the irresponsibility of a few people momentarily ruined the efforts of millions.
The fourth and worst wave of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus is summarized in 1,944 new Covid-19 cases, and to make matters worse, almost all were community cases. The highest numbers were reported on May 16 and 17 (187 and 181, respectively).
In May, in addition, Vietnam recorded five deaths from the disease. The death toll remained at 35 since September 2020.
Nationwide, 129,502 people are under health monitoring, including 3,421 admitted to hospitals, 32,914 in concentrated quarantine and 93,167 at home.
