The International Development Cooperation Agency stressed that it will send the aid ‘as soon as possible’ and, thus, it activated a humanitarian aid response mechanism.
The Chinese Government, it added, will provide emergency aid based on Palestine’s urgent needs as soon as possible. It will help assist the wounded and resettle the displaced people.
Apart from this gesture, in the past few days, Beijing has reiterated its condemnation of violence against the civilian population, and has called for the halt of the attacks and other actions that could further exacerbate tensions.
China called on Israel to comply with United Nations resolutions, refrain from demolishing Palestinian houses, evicting the owners and expanding its settlements.
The Chinese Government also urged Israel to not harass Muslims and to respect Jerusalem’s status quo as a holy place, and called on the United States to act responsibly and stop hampering UN efforts to end the bloodshed.
Like other governments in the world, China hailed the ceasefire agreed upon between Israel and Hamas militants in Gaza, and insisted on finding a long-lasting solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
