In a tour of that institution in Havana, Diaz-Canel noted the participation of young people in tasks of social and economic impact, as well as their contribution to the physical and mental recovery of Covid-19 patients and convalescents.
According to the Presidency’s Twitter account, the head of State met with young people who provide support in isolation centers for the care of suspected cases, contacts or Covid-19 cases.
Diaz-Canel described the meeting as ‘a continuity and very motivating to see a generation of students and professionals of physical culture and sports with a high human training.’
In addition, as part of the visit, the head of State planted a royal palm tree, thus joining the students’ tradition and promoting Marti’s eco-movement known as ‘Trees of the World,’ which consists of 1,200 trees of 168 species.
