On the tenth day of Israeli Army´s bombing over Gaza, which has already left more than 200 Palestinian dead, the White House released news of a new phone call between Biden and Netanyahu.

President Biden told Netanyahu that he expected a significant de-escalation on the path to a cease-fire.

But Netanyahu, on the other hand, issued a statement in which he made it clear that Israel would continue attacking Gaza until their objective is getting done.

According to CNN, Joe Biden’s phone call to Israeli prime minister comes as political and international pressure increases on the US president to demand an end to hostilities in Gaza.

Even the UN Security Council (UNSC) has not been able to issue a statement regarding Israel’s attacks on Gaza because the US delegation – with veto power – blocks the adoption of such a text that calls for a ceasefire.

Biden’s stance is also causing friction in the Blue Party, as several Democratic lawmakers called for a stronger stance in the face of Israel’s airstrikes over Palestinian population.

Gregory Meeks, head of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, will ask Joe Biden for stopping the arm sales to Israel, according to The Hill newspaper.

Such a request is seeking to allow Congress to review the agreement revealed by The Washington Post on the United States’ sale of guided missiles worth over US$735 million, amid fierce bombings over Palestine.
