During his morning press briefing in Torreon, Cohahuila, where he will apologize to Chinese authorities for insults received since colonial times, the president attributed those attacks through the Organization of American States (OAS) due to the proximity of the June 6 mid-term elections.
Obrador considered that it is normal and it not only appears in Mexico but also in other countries as part of the political effervescence that is always unleashed in these processes where control of public office is disputed.
The most important thing, he said, is to guarantee clean and free elections, citizens are those who will decide without pressure, without having to receive contributions or any other crumb in exchange for the vote, because that was the bad habit and made Mexico the country with the biggest electoral fraud globally.
We are opening a new stage because fraud is currently a serious crime and whomever it is proven, that person will be tried and sentenced without the right to bail, he added.
