In a joint statement at the Elysee Palace, the French head of State expressed his wish that Argentina reaches agreements with creditors, in order to restore its macroeconomic stability.
France will be by its side, Macron said, after highlighting the Paris-Buenos Aires coincidence on international issues concerning climate change, biodiversity conservation and gender equality.
Macron also addressed the importance of cooperation in the current scenario imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly that southern nations can have access to vaccines.
On his part, Fernandez thanked support in the negotiations with the IMF and the Paris Club in view of Argentina’s objective of ‘arranging accounts with international credit agencies.’
Before the meeting at the Elysee Palace, Fernandez met with French businessmen and investors from companies such as Total, Eramet, Dasault, Lazard and Danone.
The Argentine president arrived in Paris on Tuesday, as part of his European tour that has already taken him to Portugal and Spain, and will include Italy and the Vatican City.
