Of that sum, 142.8 million dollars went to 18 new projects, while nine others that were under implementation received 403.2 million dollars.
The United States was significantly the main destination for Vietnam’s investments, with more than half of the total (302.3 million dollars), followed by Cambodia (89.1 million). The rest of the money was basically distributed among France, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands.
By sector, most of the capital supported scientific and technological projects (270.8 million dollars) and wholesale and retail trade (147.8 million dollars).
