‘We did not perceive or expect anything new in the recent statements of US President Joe Biden, in which he accused Syria of constituting a threat to the national security of his country,’ Sousan assured to the press on the sidelines of a ceremony held in Damascus for the anniversary of the victory over fascism.
He added that the US remains on the wrong side, but Syrians who have been defending their country and protecting their independence for over 10 years would say the final word on the future of their nation.
He described, meanwhile, the position of the European Union (EU) on Syria as indecent.

He regretted that the EU wanted to be subordinated and ‘not only Syria says that but the European public opinion has the same conviction,’ the deputy minister clarified.
