Among the invited authors stand out the Argentine Alberto Manguel and the Spanish Jorge Carrion and Jesus Trueba, united in the effort to celebrate the Portuguese language under the premise of the 5 ‘els’: language, literature, books, bookstores and reading.
The event becomes a propitious moment to approach literature as a refuge in Covid-19 times and to highlight the functioning of libraries, which had to change their operating bases to remain active.
Arranged by the city council and the libraries of Lisbon, the organizers’ intention is to put the city on the international map of events dedicated to literature and to highlight its cultural life.
The festival includes debates and author’s tables with writers and specialists from various latitudes, as well as spaces dedicated to evoking the relationship among music, language and literature.
