The maneuvers, which Russia sees as another step to reduce stability in the region, included the Nurmski airport, to where many US soldiers flew directly from the United States.
The US troops belong to the Fort Bragg-based 82nd Airborne Division and were sent there for an air landing on Saturday at dawn, the Estonian Ministry of Defense noted.
The first actions as part of Swift Response started on May 5, in the framework of the Defender Europe drills, which involves 28,000 soldiers from 26 countries and will be taking place in the region until June.
At the time, Russia denounced the provocative nature of NATO’s war games near its borders, and warned that it will take measures to guarantee its national security.
