In another tweet, the UNDP representative in Cuba pointed out that investments are being planned for the control and containment of Covid-19, as well as to mitigate the impact on the National Response to HIV and strengthen health and community systems.
The Global Fund approved a new response mechanism in April 2020 to support countries in their fight against Covid-19, and mitigate the impact on HIV, tuberculosis, malaria and health systems.
This pandemic response mechanism authorizes funding of 500 million dollars for the purchase of diagnostic and personal protective equipment and other emergency response supplies.
