According to Nature Communications journal, dynamics unfold with a screwed-up movement of cells in malignant tumors.
Cancer cell specialists were able to check that even though mechanism is much swifter in plants, it shows remarkable similarities to that one by cells located in the tumor to expand.
In metastasis, malignant cells also attach themselves to healthy tissues to corrupt them and spread the disease, experts said.
‘With the same spiral-style movement the plant roots conduct, abnormal cells expand their influence and make a tumor grow,’ researchers stressed.
Scientists who participated in the project strongly believed that poring over this process in depth can reach new approaches to cancer.
