A press release referred that during the aggravation of the socio-political situation in the country, some military and security officers provoked anti-government moods, as well as arranged and participated in unauthorized events, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
The press release informed that those individuals published extremist materials on the Internet, urged to carry out radical actions, shared personal data of government officials, journalists, law enforcement officers, as well as insulted and threatened those people.
Among other accusations, the message of the Belarusian Presidency noted that those involved discredited the honor and dignity of a serviceman, showed disrespect for State symbols and refused to perform their official duties.
According to the press release, criminal case investigations were initiated against a number of former military and law enforcement officers in Belarus, including for organizing acts of terrorism.
‘Such actions are incompatible with the status of a military and law enforcement officer,’ President Lukashenko assured.
