From the Union of Cuban Residents in Argentina (URCA) and the Argentine Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MasCuba), this initiative came to life and has been gaining strength thanks to the sustained support of many who have been contributing to this collection until we gathered 200,000 syringe kits to be sent to Havana.
In statements to Prensa Latina, URCA Vice President Alexander Catala said that he is proud to join this project in favor of his people, following in the footsteps of the Bridges of Love initiative, founded by his fellow countryman Carlos Lazo in the United States.
We are grateful for the solidarity from the Argentinean people with our homeland. Today we have over 200,000 syringe kits to send and we continue with the continental campaign, he stated.
He also noted that the Cuban residents here, along with MasCuba, are grateful to all those who have spontaneously joined in aiding the country.
This is an action that as a Cuban means a lot to me, to be able to feel that I am contributing a little to my nation, and as residents here we all feel proud to have taken this path, he concluded.
